As a sixth-generation member of the Henschke family, Andreas grew up on the family’s winery and farm at Keyneton, in the Eden Valley wine region, surrounded by a passion for the environment and a love of making exceptional wine.
His professional experience as a chartered mechanical engineer, specifically with designing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment, means Andreas is well placed to support Henschke’s commitment to sustainable water management in its vineyards and winery.
To build on his engineering knowledge and make a tangible contribution to the community, Andreas has had an active role in various industry and humanitarian groups. He previously held the role of Victorian Region President for Engineers Without Borders and undertook a short-term field placement in Cambodia.
Andreas is currently overseeing the redevelopment of the Henschke red wine cellar which will help the winery better process grapes in peak periods and improve safety and energy efficiency. In his role as brand ambassador, he regularly travels across Australia to promote over 150 years of Henschke family winemaking history though wine tastings and sharing stories.
