With the new year fast approaching, we would like to thank you for your continued support of our wines in 2024, and we look forward to sharing many more Henschke moments with you.
This year, we celebrated Prue’s meticulous work in nourishing our old vines with organic and biodynamic practices through challenging seasons, marked by the release of our 2019 Single Vineyard wines – ‘A Vintage Graced by the Nurturer’. To complement the 2019 single-vineyard wines, we were pleased to jointly release two museum wines directly from our cellar: the 2008 Hill of Grace and the 2013 Mount Edelstone. While the 2019 wines sold out very quickly due to being an incredibly small vintage, we do still have some of the museum wines available.
In September, Prue’s outstanding contribution to the Australian wine industry was recognised with the Wine Communicators of Australia’s 2024 South Australian ‘Legend of the Vine’ Award.
We were overjoyed to receive the news in October that Henschke had been awarded the 2024 Golden Vines ‘Best Fine Wine Producer in the Rest of the World’ (Australasia, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East). This award celebrates ‘the best of the best’ in the world of fine wine and rare spirits.
Finally, this year our family welcomed a new addition to the seventh generation, as Andreas Henschke and his wife Ruby announced the arrival of Elise Jean – the eighth grandchild for Prue and Stephen.

As we look ahead to 2025, the countdown to vintage is on. While our yields have been impacted by early spring frost, the recent rainfall and warm weather have been ideal for continued vine and berry growth. Our vineyard teams have been busy with shoot thinning, foliage wire lifting, and vine training. With a late Easter harvest moon, we are anticipating a high-quality, later-than-usual harvest.
We are excited to announce the release of the exceptional 2021 vintage of our Single Vineyard Collection on Wednesday, 7 May 2025. The 2021 Collection will include Hill of Grace, Hill of Roses, Mount Edelstone, The Wheelwright, and Cyril Henschke. We will share more information regarding this release, as well as our 2025 events calendar, in the new year.
